A number of multilateral organizations and international institutions have been briefed and have stated their interest in this initiative as a tool for wealth creation, including the World Bank Group and the International Trade Centre. WEConnect International, including its network, know-how and database coordination, will become a key resource for policy makers and economic development initiatives that want to help companies move from start-up or subsistence to sustainability, growth, and real economic impact.
Governments
According to the Better Regulation Task Force in the UK, “There is little point in spending billions on support services and at the same time making it difficult for small firms to enter the public sector market place.” The certification process taps into the potential of women, eliminates barriers, increases transparency, and offers incentives to move from the informal to the formal and taxable economy. WEConnect International and our partners work closely with domestic government agencies that have a stake in the growth of historically underutilized businesses, local and national productivity improvement, job creation, and a better life for female entrepreneurs and their communities.
