cummins fpIn advance of the MSDUK Conference and Awards event in London, Corporate Indirect Purchasing International Leader of Cummins Denis Ford recently shared his thoughts about supplier diversity with Spend Matters. Cummins is a 2016 MSDUK Corporation of the Year finalist and has been a WEConnect International global member for several years.

In the article, Ford states:

"Cummins understands that businesses owned by diverse suppliers help contribute to the overall economic growth and well-being of the communities in which we live and work.  We also understand that establishing strategic partnerships with our suppliers helps create value for our customers and provides us with a competitive advantage.  Collaborating with such businesses to provide goods and services to our company creates a cross-cultural competency that only comes from multiple perspectives."

Berry Maggie 2015As part of Computer Weekly's 50th anniversary celebration, the magazine is looking back on the great women who have made technology as well as the IT industry possible. In "CW@50: Women in technology - the shifting gender landscape," business editor Clare MacDonald also charts the history of women in technology, the obstacles faced, and the efforts to overcome these challenges. We are proud to say that Executive Director of WEConnect International in Europe Maggie Berry is listed among a number of prestigious women for her efforts to connect women across the technology industry by founding the Women in Technology network in 2012.

BuyUpFPThe BUY UP Index is a new app that allows consumers to make purchasing decisions based on a company's demonstrated commitment to gender equality. The organization rates everyday brands and products and the companies behind them. Using a proprietary rating methodology, the BUY UP index assesses companies on four major areas: Women Employees, Women Leadership, Corporate Citizenship, and Marketing.

We are proud to say several WEConnect International corporate members earned A and B grades in their industry categories, and some earned top positions.
