WEConnect International in South Africa identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women. WEConnect International is the only non-profit organisation in South Africa that provides the seal of certification uniquely to Women Business Enterprises (WBEs), and also, that connects these WBEs with multi-national corporate purchasing organizations across diverse industries. Our signature seal of certification is a formal guarantee to corporations that they are purchasing goods and/or services from South African businesses that meet universal standards for WBEs. Accenture1On 4 July 2018, Accenture, in collaboration with the South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) and WEConnect International in South Africa, hosted a one-day SME Business Link at their Woodmead offices The room had several tier-one Accenture suppliers, various corporate members, which included WEConnect South African corporate members like Absa and Cummins, and women business owners in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, who are affiliated with WEConnect International in South Africa.

During Women’s Month (August), Johnson & Johnson spearheaded the WEConnect International in South Africa Roadshow 2018 in two major cities, Durban and Cape Town.

The event brought together women business owners both within and outside the formal WEConnect International network, as well as corporate member representatives from Johnson & Johnson, Ingersoll Rand, and EY.

Thanks to the invaluable support from corporate sponsors, including ABSA, Accenture, Citi, Cummins, EY, ExxonMobil, Hilton, IBM, Ingersoll Rand, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Monsanto, and P&G, WEConnect International in South Africa held its most successful annual conference to-date on June 1st, 2018. Hosted by EY in Sandton for the third consecutive year, the event delivered a fast-paced and unforgettable day of exciting presentations, innovative demonstrations, and discussion.
