WEConnect International in South Africa identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women. WEConnect International is the only non-profit organisation in South Africa that provides the seal of certification uniquely to Women Business Enterprises (WBEs), and also, that connects these WBEs with multi-national corporate purchasing organizations across diverse industries. Our signature seal of certification is a formal guarantee to corporations that they are purchasing goods and/or services from South African businesses that meet universal standards for WBEs. SAEYDurbanOn 27 November 2018, WEConnect International and EY brought the Collaboration Workshop to Kwa-Zulu Natal’s capital city, Durban. Corporate representatives from EY and Ingersoll Rand were present to kick off the Roadshow, introduce themselves, and their companies. Women business owners took advantage of the corporates present by both seeking advice related to the corporate procurement procedures and expressing some challenges they had with regards to doing business with corporates.

The seventh annual Enterprise & Supplier Development Expo, in partnership with Smart Procurement World and the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Africa, was held September 17th-20th at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg. The annual sourcing exhibition brings together procurement, purchasing and buying professionals, from both government and the private sector, together to offer attendees access to key information about specific procurements procudres, needs and requirements.

Accenture1On 4 July 2018, Accenture, in collaboration with the South African Supplier Diversity Council (SASDC) and WEConnect International in South Africa, hosted a one-day SME Business Link at their Woodmead offices The room had several tier-one Accenture suppliers, various corporate members, which included WEConnect South African corporate members like Absa and Cummins, and women business owners in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, who are affiliated with WEConnect International in South Africa.
