(April 28, 2017) Loretta Lee is the chairman and founder of Merchant House International Ltd (MHI Group), a company listed on the Australia Securities Exchange (ASX). Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to establish several companies, including Merchant House International Ltd, The Loretta Lee Group, and Forsan Limited. Loretta also owns own several factories, with three located in China and one factory located in the U.S. MHI Group have over a thousand employees in China.
The Loretta Lee Group has more than 30 years’ experience in sourcing, manufacturing and selling consumer products, with an emphasis on footwear, home textiles, with sales approach US$100 million per year. The Footwear Division’s main products are safety boots and western boots. In China, the division operates mainly through 2 Tianjin joint venture factories. Their 2014 Tennessee factory supplies safety boots through direct injection molded soles, a first-of-its-kind investment by a China focused group. The Home Textiles Division primarily manufactures kitchen textiles and table linens. The Group’s Carsan textile factory in Shunde, China is 100% owned, has been in operation since 2002 employing over 600 workers.
The Loretta Lee Group used to only supply to Walmart global sourcing, in 2015, they went to attend the WBENC National Conference & Business Fair in Austin in the US, during the fair, they showcase their products with the Women Owned Logo printed on the package. This unique logo help people easily identify products made by women-owned businesses. Through this opportunity, the company is well known by more customers and corporate. Now they also supply to Walmart China.
In 2017, Loretta Lee was nominated for the WEConnect International award for Best Mentor and Role Model to other Women Owned-Businesses.
