(June 20, 2017) On June 19 in Las Vegas, WEConnect International hosted more than 200 corporate representatives, women business owners, partners and other champions of women’s economic empowerment. During the evening reception, Elizabeth A. Vazquez, CEO and Co-Founder of WEConnect International, announced the top five winners of the first ever WEConnect International photo contest for women business owners.
Among the five finalists was Silvia Chaves, Vice President of certified women's business enterprise Florex, based in San Ramón, Alajuela, Costa Rica. The company produces and markets environmentally friendly cleaning products and services. It is leader in Central America in designing and developing cleaning products by eco-friendly formulas, which satisfy the cleaning needs at home and industry in the Central American region.
Florex has been concerned with achieving development in harmony with nature, that is the reason it keeps in a constant process of research, innovation and improvement in environmental performance. Also, as part of the ecological philosophy, it provides assessment services to the institutional and private sector, that helps detect fallacies in cleaning and explains the advantages of switching to environmentally friendly cleaning practices
Sylvia's photo - "Florex, a sustainable company under the leadership of a Costa Rican woman" - stood out among the contestants because it conveyed the pride many of our women business owners take in their product and showed how managers like Sylvia are not just leading their businesses from behind a desk.
The competition isn’t over yet, though!
